A homemade Christmas!

Brynlee's present took the longest, but was the most fun! I made a quiet book for her with tons of fun pages to go through.
Kailin got an apron and hot pad so she can help cook!
Cole got a TEEPEE and army blanket that as you can see he won't let out of his sight.
Trey got a flag football kit so he can play with his friends.
Shane made this beautiful jewelry box for Shaylee. I made jewelry for the inside.
Dresses for the girls.
This year we had a homemade Christmas. It was really fun, but insane. Shane and I were up all hours of the night trying to get everything finished. Pros: I never would have taken the time to stop and make chocolates with Cole. Help Trey learn to sew for Shaylee and make a pinewood derby for Cole. Shane was a part of the making. It was fun! Cons: No sleep for weeks, Spending more money than I normally would have, did I mention no sleep. When we were all done Trey announced we were going to do it every year. Some things yes others NO!

It's starting to look a lot like Christmas......

One thing I love to do with my kids is take them to see Santa Claus. We went to see Shaylee perform at the Dicken's Festival. She was GREAT! Then off to see Santa. Shaylee wants a 4-wheeler. Trey wants a rip stick G. Cole wants a "real BB gun, ALL the transformers, and a whole bunch of army guys, that's all." Kailin wants a baby doll. Brynlee was just amazed with the beard. Did I mention we are having a homemade Christmas. I really hope they like what they get. That is why we are doing it. So they will want to give more than receive.

Shaylee Kay-

Shaylee is my oldest. I am thankful for her! She is soooo much help! This last weekend Shaylee and Trey went with my mom and dad to Salt Lake and Shane was at work. Which left me getting the three little kids ready by myself. When Shane works on Sundays Shaylee always is there to help find someones Sunday shoes, or just get the girls dresses on them. Needless to say I was late! She is someone I can count on to watch my chick flicks with me. She loves to sit and look at the scrapbooks forever and make me feel like my time doing them is not wasted. I love her and hope she knows how much fun it is to have her as my daughter.

Brynlee Margaret

Brynlee has been a fun surprise. We have loved having her here. Out of all the girls she is the one that has daddy wrapped around her little finger. 18 months is my favorite age. She is 14 months and just as much fun. She has started to show her personality and play with the other kids. She is always looking for Shane. That is her favorite thing to do is wake Shane up. She says Dad and gets an inch from his face until he opens his eyes. Than she laughs and trys to run. She is a gem.

Trey Boy

I am thankful for Trey. He has a talent of making people feel important. He has been wrestling for 3 years now and loves it. Cole wrestled this year. Between the matches he would go down to his brothers mat and talk to him and tell him what a good job he was doing. It made Cole feel so good to have his older brother looking out for him.

The Princess....

I love my little Kailin. I am so thankful that she is a part of our family. She can light up the room with her smile. Everyone thinks Cole is my handful, but she gives her brother a run for his money. She is determined and has a mind of her own.

On Saturday we went to the park for a surprise party for my mom's birthday. There was a big plastic panda for the kids to sit on. She climbed up on his lap put her arm around him and said, "hey big guy!". We are in soooooooo much trouble!

I am THANKFUL......

I am so thankful for my children and husband. This month I decided I would post 6 times. Each time telling why I am thankful for one of them. Tonight is Cole. He makes me smile. Even when he is getting into trouble he can make me smile.

Last weekend I was canning with my mom and we were down stairs. I hadn't seen Cole for awhile and went to go see what he was getting into. I went up stairs to find Cole cuddled up to my 94 year-old grandpa (who was sleeping). When I walked in the room he scolded me and said, "SHHHH I am babysitting grandpa and I just got him to sleep." I tip toed out of the room as he cuddled back up to him to finish watching John Wayne. A love he and my grandpa share. He made my soul smile as he showed how loving he can be. I am Thankful for my little miracle Cole!

Happy Halloween!

Better late than never......
We had a great night. Our ward did a trunk or treat. I was a little nervous for Kailin. I thought I would end up in the van all night with her screaming. She hates costumes. After two trunk she picked up that if you hold out your bucket and say trunk or treat they will give you candy. Even if they are awful looking. Yeah we conquered her fear. I wore this costume of my sister. I look stupid, but my kids loved the fact that I got into the spirit of things with them. My sister-in-law Natalie came with us too. My niece Chloe (Snow White) and my sister-in-law Natalie came with us.

Cole is so Funny!

My son Cole has the funniest things to say sometimes. So I thought some of you would like a laugh.

I took Cole to school and he was showing me the new class pet. 2 goldfish. When we were looking in the fish bowl he noticed that there was only 1. He asked his teacher what happened to the other one. She said he died. He didn't like being alone. Cole looked at her like she was crazy and said you know you have to feed them. Right? She said she had fed them. Cole told her "you must not have fed them enough 'cuz now one is dead."

We were leaving the pre-school were Cole goes and he found yet another bug. He wanted to put it in his backpack to bring home. He opened it up to let yet another bug fly out. He was mad that I let out his other pet. Is it normal to keep flying bugs in your backpack?

Cole had a play date with... lets call her Minnie so her mom won't dye of embarrassment. Minnie and Cole were in the front room playing with an empty tote. Minnie wanted to play house Cole said "ok BUT I don't want to be the Dad" She said fine he could be one of the kids, and told him he needed to get in the tube and get ready for bed. He jumped in the tote and pretended to start scrubbing his body. When Minnie told him to say "you need to say hop in honey" Cole jumped up and said "NO! I told you I would not be the dad, and if I call you honey that makes me the dad." I could not stop laughing. Makes you wonder what happens at Minnie's house. lol

I decided that I have been blogging a little too much lately. From now on I will probably only post once a month. I love keeping in touch with family and friends. Please don't take this personally I love you all.

Sick?

Cole blew out his ear drum last night. His feels fine, but the cold air this morning was hurting his ears. So you guessed it no school. He was not happy about that. We decided to have mommy school. I had to make it impressive today. We had cookies and capri sun juices for snack and made these silly hats. Cole was a pirate and Kailin was the Statue of Liberty. It started out really fun until the kids thought the glue was taking to long to dry. So mom finished them with the stapler. They loved them for 5 min. glad we spent all morning doing them. What was frustrating was I was not even mutli tasking. I could of had my bread raising, the dishes running in the dish washer, or dare I say it.... the laundry going. No I just made hats and that was it! Time to play catch up!

Spaghetti

My family all loves Spaghetti. YUCK! I can only stand it in small quantities. Like once a year for Shane's birthday, or something special for Valentine's Day. It really isn't that bad, but you get the picture. My family out voted me and we had to have Spaghetti. I thought maybe one of my kids might not like it, but no they all love it including Brynlee. She even licked the plate!

Having a Ball at Peach Days!

Trey entered a picture he took of Brynlee and won a second place ribbon.
Cole was fascinated with this guy who spun wool into thread. He kept talking to him even though the guy could not understand him.

Cole went up and got a project from the Home Depot booth. We told the boys we would take them home for Shane to help them with so the girls didn't have to sit in the sun and wait. Cole stopped to watch these people with their project. Poor kid didn't want to leave.
