My Dad loves this little boy named Cole. He loves that he wants to be a farmer. Which if you ask him now he would tell you he is.
This is my Dad. I think he was as excited about getting the milk cow as Cole was. Friday was like Christmas morning for those 2.
We had a lot to do to get ready for Daisy to come stay. First with the help from Grandpa we had to build a head gadget thingy. Yeah, I have no idea what it is called.
I am glad my Dad has so much patience.
All the kids got to take turns with the power tools. This is what we did for Family Home Evening on Monday night.
Yes, even Brynlee got to help.
This is Daisy we went to see her on Monday night. Cole was in love at first sight. He came running over to my mom and I and said, "Mom, Grandma you have to come see our cow she is beautiful!"
Each night we went out to the cow pin to help make it look a little better. Before
After. Yes, we all have blisters to prove it.
Friday my dad went to pick up some calves so what we don't want in milk they can have.
Cole was in Heaven. We lost one of the calves last night. The one that lived through the night we named Oreo. When I was little my Dad made me name the calf what I wanted to eat from it. Like hamburger, or T-bone. He has gotten soft in his old age. The kids got to pick anything. I was voting for bar-b-q. The kids did not think that was funny. They named him Oreo because he is black and white. I was ok with it since you still eat Oreo's. ha ha ha
This is the boys bottle feeding the calf this morning.
Well, now you know what our family project for 2010 is. It has been great! I have even made real butter. Now to make an ice cream that is worth eating. LOL When I have it perfected I will call you Summer.
