Brynlee, babies, bottles, and a birthday party.

Saturday was Brynlee's 3rd birthday. We had such a good time. We went to the park to have cake, and play with bubbles. She opened presents and was spoiled rotten. Shaylee got her a pink purse. I think it was the hit. She has not let it go since. She has even slept with it for 2 nights.
She got bottles, babies, and blower dryer.
She was so funny watching her open her gifts! Grandma Johnson made her pajamas for her baby. Kendra made her a blanket for her baby. She loves her baby so she was in heaven.
I don't know if she liked the stroller, or was protecting it from her sister. LOL She is also wearing the pink sparkling tennis shoes from Grandma Brown.
It was really windy so we held up her baby blanket to try to light the candles and it still didn't work.
This is her pretending to blow out her candles.
I am glad she liked her cup cakes. This is what her pink cake that she picked out ended up looking like. It was sad!
Even without the pink cake she loved her party.
Running in the bubbles. She loved dancing around in them.
Kailin loved the bubbles so much she wouldn't put them down.
Happy Birthday Sweet Brynlee.

15 years and counting

Today Shane and I have been married for 15 years. To celebrate we took the kids to the temple. Cole, Kailin and Brynlee have never been there before so it was fun seeing them take it all in. After going on a tour at the visitors center we went outside to show the kids were Shane asked me to marry him. Cheesy I know.
We walked around and took a couple of pictures. It was late so we didn't have the best lighting.
Shaylee took this picture of Shane and I where he proposed to me. I can't believe it has been that long ago. It only seems like yesterday. We have had our ups and downs. I am just glad we have had more ups than downs.
Love you Shane. I can't wait for 15 more wonderful years.

Brown Family Reunion 2010

On Friday Shane and I took the kids and went to our final family reunion of the year. This is the Brown side of my family. We had a wonderful time. Saturday after getting up and having breakfast we had some free time until noon. Brigham took a lot of older kids and went fishing. Shane, Brynlee and I went with my sister Bridgette her husband, and their little guy Easton. We took a drive to see Darren's family cabin. It was a beautiful place. I made Shane take some pictures with me that he was not happy about!
This is Easton Brynlee and I taking a break.
After our picture I made Darren and Bridgette get one too.

Brynlee and Easton
Bridgette was pretending to throw Easton in this little creek there.
At noon we all headed back to the camp ground. My mom had set up a minute to win it game. Just like the one on T.V. Brynlee was called up to ho la hoop for a minute. She was given a candy bar for effort.
Kailin had to throw a ball through a hoop hanging from a tree. She was also given a candy bar for effort.
Grandma Braxton, and Bryce had to put an oreo on their forehead and without using hands move the oreo down their face to their mouth. I have a video of this one. Bridgette said they look like they were having seizures. I wouldn't know I am always on the other side of it.
Shane Trey and Daxton had to strap tissue boxes to their belts fill them with ping pong balls and shake it until they all fell out. By far my favorite one!
Cole and I had to unroll and roll of tissue paper with only one hand. Easy! Yeah!
After the games some started to play...
Some brought their guitars out to play...(thanks Saula it was wonderful)
Some started to help cook our dutch oven dinner.
We also had BBQ chicken. Yummy!
My Dad's mother(my grandma Brown) came up for dinner and to be the judge of Hollywood Squares. I am pretty sure my mom cheated and gave me all the hard questions. Yes, that means B.J. was the winner!
We took a little hike afterwards to work off dinner. Then headed home. Some didn't even make it down the dirt road before they were asleep.
Some were so tired when we got home they walked straight in to their room and laid back down on the first thing they saw to finish sleeping.
Thanks mom for putting this together. We had a wonderful time!

Your Mama...

So last night after the kids came home from school I was asking them how it was going. Cole said, "Good! I even took down a 8th grader." Of course, that peaked my interest. The last thing we need is that one fighting in school. I said, "What happened?!" He then explained that the guy was calling me and Gage's mom (Kendra's little boy) names. He couldn't handle it so he, and Gage tackled the kid on the playground. We had a nice little sit down talk about not fighting, and walking away when someone says something mean. I asked how the kid knew me, and what name he had said. Cole said, "He said your mama is a chicken butt!" I told Cole he didn't know me so to ignore him. This morning I told Cole to tell Shane what happened at school. The story was the same except this time he took down a high school kid. Trey was behind him saying he was in first grade. Poor kid. He was trying out his "your mama" jokes on the wrong kids. I just hope he learned to stay away from that pack of boys. LOL

Kailin's first day...

Today was Kailin's first day of pre-school. It has been killing her that everyone else started school, and she had to wait.
I asked her what she did at school she said, "have fun!" I asked, "What was so fun?" She then said homework! I can only hope this keeps up. None of the other kids agree. LOL

Back to School

Yeah for School! Yesterday was the first day of school. I love the Summertime and playing with my kids, but by the time it is ready for school again my kids are fighting. When the fighting starts that is when I can't wait for school to start. This year I did something a little different. Shaylee hates when I want to take her picture on the first day. Instead of embarrassing her I took the kids to the school the Saturday before dressed in what they said was what they would be wearing on the first day and did pictures then. This is all my kids together.
Kailin will start pre-school next Tuesday.
Shaylee is going into 8th grade.
Trey is going into 5th grade. He has the same teacher as last year. Mrs. R. Hirschi
Cole starts 1st grade with Mrs. Williams. It was hard for me to let him go this year.

This is Shaylee and her friend Lexi Winder on the first day. I had to take it from the van as I was driving away. LOL
Trey and Cole in front of the school. Yes, Cole did not wear what he said he was going to on the first day.
The boys by the cubs sign.
All in all loving nap time! It is quiet in my house for a whole 1/2 hour. LOL

Me and my crazy ideas!

How we got ready for back to school:
Shaylee's birthday was in June. She got something like $80.00 to spend. I took her to the mall and other stores trying to find the right thing to spend her money on. She would find things and then decide she didn't want them that bad because it was coming out of her own money. So I (and I talked Shane into it too) decided to do a new chore chart for the summer. I would pay them at the end of every week for the things they had done. At the end of the summer the older 2 would have to buy their own school clothes. At first Shaylee thought it was great she had money to go to the movies with friends, go swimming, and just blow on candy. Trey my saver started a list of all the things that he would need to go back to school. He even started buying a few things here and there. The difference between these 2 are night and day.
So last Friday I paid them again and took them school shopping. Trey bought shirts, shoes, socks, and still has money leftover. Shaylee had very little money to burn, and bought some shorts for $44.00. Yes, it killed me to watch her spend that on one pair of shorts, but it was her money. She got some plain t-shirts at DI and that was it for her.
I was feeling bad for her and her clothes. So I told her I would help make the plain t-shirts not look so plain. I got the idea from a shirt Summer Johnson wears and I love. I think they turned out ok. Plain Shirt
Not so plain shirt
She wanted one just like Summer's.
Even if they have this crazy old mom that has crazy ideas school will be great this year!

Sweet memory...

So Shane and I were watching a movie with the kids the other night. I was trying to keep Brynlee from going up and down. The thing that works at church is to tickle her arms. I had her snuggled up to me, and I was tickling her arms. She was starting to fall asleep. I leaned down kissed her check and whispered, "I love you" in her ear. She turned smiled at me and said, "I love Tandy (candy) and I love Tailin (Kailin)." It was really sweet. Even if she didn't say I love you too.
