Little League Wrestling 2015

This year little leg wrestling has made me feel old.  It's Cole's last year to wrestle Little League anyways. His first tournament was a home tournament and he took 1st place.
He had 3 matches and pinned all of them.
I think the thing that made me feel the most old was Trey was refereeing.
He did a wonderful job! It's just hard for me to see him all grown up.
Between this cute referee and my little stud wrestler it was a good Saturday.

Wrestling 2015

I'm am one proud mama. Trey had a wrestling banquet for all the parents and wrestlers receiving their Varsity letters.
One of the coaches Courtney English had a lot of really good things to say about Trey. He told a funny story. Some of the wrestlers needed to lose weight so he had Trey go put some sleeping bags in the dryer to heat them up.  When he asked Trey to go get the sleeping bags out of the dryer he told them they weren't even done washing yet. I guess I taught him well if he thinks you should wash clothes before you dry them.

Wisdom Teeth

Our dentist told us it was a good idea to have Shaylee's wisdom teeth removed before she gets married and won't be on our insurance. Since we needed to get hers done and Trey would need his out before his mission we did them both together.
This is right before we were headed into the office to have it done.
Shaylee was the first one in. She was also the funniest.
She started crying when she realized we were laughing at the funny things she was saying.
Trey was next. He went in and out really relaxed. He would only give us a thumbs up sign to let us know he was ok.  It made Shaylee so mad.
She started yelling at the staff that help bring him to the car because he wouldn't talk to her.
Trying to get settled at home was rough. Trey could only talk about his ice cream. Shaylee kept trying to drink but mostly drowning herself.
After photo. This was right after they decided ice cream is no good if you can't taste it. It may end up being a long weekend.

Miss Margaret

Brynlee has always loved music! She loves to sing and dance to it. She will sit at our piano and play music for hours so I decided it was time for piano lessons. She started taking from Shaunie Johnson and loves it.

She can't wait to play for everybody she meets.

A little scare!

Trey is a freshman and made the varsity wrestling team. In order to wrestle you have to have a physical and be cleared by a doctor. When he went in for his physical he ended up having an EKG.
Yes he is all muscles.
He was a very good sport. Especially when he was told he couldn't wrestle. His EKG was abnormal. We had to take him into the hospital yesterday for an echocardiogram. No wrestling until he was finished with all the tests to clear him. Of course when he came home from school Friday and announced he got his best time in the mile run at school (5 minutes 34 seconds) I was a little stressed.
The tech said he didn't see anything to worry about but he was sending the pictures to the cardiologist at primary children's hospital in Salt Lake.  Today we got the results back. 🎉Yay!🎉 He is fine and now cleared to wrestle!
Of course we had to go celebrate with food. Casa de Maria so yummy!
So glad to have it over with.  Can't wait to watch him wrestle now.

The perfect presents.

I don't always buy the perfect presents for my children.  Especially as they get older. We had a homemade Christmas this year. Kailin got a sewing kit and Brynlee got a doctor kit.
The other night I was out on the couch reading.  Kailin came out with material she had cut into a pattern she had made up.  I asked her what she was making. She said she didn't have a cute tank top to wear to bed so she was just going to make herself one really quick. I was very impressed by the pattern she had cut out looked like it might even work.
It would have worked had she not sewn all the way around it sewing the head closed.
A few minutes later Brynlee was out carrying a clip board asking who was sick. Shaylee and I looked at each other and she shook her head no so I ended up the patient. After taking down my information and vitals she decided I needed a shot in my leg. After receiving 3 shots and bandages. I was on the road to recovery.
No pain no gain? Ha ha ha. It only cost me .25cents
So at least for these 2 little girls the perfect presents were given.

Special Dinner

My youngest 3 children decided to make me a special dinner tonight. I came home after working a long day and Cole, Kailin, and Brynlee made me an egg burrito decorated with ketchup. I love my kids!

The funny things Brynlee says....

While on our trip to Salt Lake Brynlee told my mom I have seen things here I have only seen in the movies. Like a TAXI (she was fasinated by them, who was in them, and where they were going) TRAFFIC, THE GUY THAT RINGS THE BELL (Salvation Army rarely makes it our way I guess) MOVING STAIRS (escalators are always fun) GIANT STORES (malls are only 1 level where we live). She was very observant on our trip and loved every minute.  To be young again!
