Family Vacation 2010

Day 1- We left late. Crazy, I know US leave late. ha ha So this was what we did our whole first day. Yep, a car ride. There was so much snow Shane and I almost turned around there. We could only go 25 miles per hour.
When we got to our triple wide- I mean cabin. We hunkered in for the night hoping tomorrow would be a better day.

Day 2-Bryce Canyon and Snow... The next day we woke up to lots of wind and snow. So there was a lot of this going on...
And this...
And this...
And this...Yes, I paid $6.00 for that coloring book so the little girls would have something to do.
That afternoon the snowing had stopped, but not the wind. We ventured out for a drive. I was going crazy stuffed up in that cabin. We even got out of the car for a minute!

As you can tell the wind was very strong!
At the top of the canyon the older kids got out to play in the snow.

While Kailin, Brynlee and I stayed in the car to keep warm. I did get out for a couple of minutes. After the first stop Kailin wanted nothing to do with getting out so she practiced her driving skills.
This was on the way back. Look at how high the drifts on the side of the road were.
On the way back down Shane and I stopped to look at another point. None of the kids would join us for this one.

Day 3- Mossy Cave and Calf Creek...Saturday turned out to be a beautiful day. The sun was out and shining. It was great! We started off by doing a hike near Tropic called Mossy Cave. Alisha told us about this hike. It was the kids favorite!

Trey and I at the top! The cave was awesome with all the ice crystals.
We took a break at the park. The kids love the old fashioned merry go round.
The Schwan's man was across the street so I stopped him and bought a box of ice cream!
Lower calf creek. We started the hike. No, we didn't finish the hike. About 1 1/2 miles into it we decided we needed to head back. The girls were tired and we were running out of day light!

Since we came back from the hike early we let the kids play in the water!

We came back to Tropic and got pizza for dinner. Then headed off to the park!

Day 4
Bryce Canyon .... We went back to Bryce on our way home. It was so cold on Friday that we didn't really get to take very good pictures. Day 4 was beautiful!
The wind was still blowing as you can tell.

At least we accomplished a family picture on the last day of our vacation.

Cole's field trip... April 20th

I know I am posting a tad bit late on this. Cole had a field trip last Tuesday. His class went to the Wildlife Museum in St. George. He had such a fun time seeing all the different animals.

Yes, I got to tag along for this one!

This is one of his his friends Lyv. They had a hands on room for the kids to get out their wiggles!

The animals that were all around were so fun to look at!

This is Cole and his wonderful teacher Mrs. Holdaway. She has been such a good teacher for Cole. I could not of hand picked a better teacher for him!

Survivor 2010

Shane and I went to a fun birthday party for my friend Colony. She played the game Survivor. We are both competitive so ending up on different tribes was a challenge.

My team The Hero's:

Shane's team The Villians:

The Villians even had a Russell. LOL
Some of the Challenges were building a fire to burn through a rope! The purple team may have won that challenge, but I also think this is when we figured out they were The Villians.
Survivor Bocce Ball. The Hero's took this win! Yeah!
Survivor relay: We raced across blocks, under tables, through mud, down a hill and back the same way. The Hero's took another win!

We had to race and get bags of puzzle pieces and put them together. The Villians won this one as well! :(

We had a one on one tug of war. Each standing on logs the first to let go or touch the ground first lost! The Hero's took another victory!

The Survivor Gang that can: OUT WHIT, OUT LAST, AND OUT PLAY!
The Individual Winner of the night: A Hero-Colony Perry

It was such a fun night! Thanks for inviting us to your birthday. I can't wait to see what you do when you turn 30! LOL

Having nieces over is the best way to get out of laundry!

Today I had Jake and Ana's kids come over to play so they could go celebrate their wedding anniversary.

After the girls (Shaylee, Jacquell, and Brielle)were done goofing around. They made these awesome flowers and bows. We had a fun time with them here. I hope they liked coming, and Their mom and dad will let them come back!

My boys...

Last weekend was State wrestling for my boys. They both did a fantastic job! I couldn't be more proud of them. After not being able to wrestle for 3 weeks Trey did a fantastic job! He also showed Cole what good sportsmanship is. I am glad Cole has a good role model in his older brother.

Cole my little man worked hard and placed 4th. He did a great job!

Even though Shane and I are glad to have our weekends back we had such a good time spending some one on one time with the boys!

Easter Sunday

We woke up and got baskets with new Sunday clothes. I made Kailin and Brynlee's dresses. I was so proud of them. I would show a picture, but the first chance they were in them Brynlee took a bite out of the concrete and was bleeding everywhere. Yes, all over her dress and mine! It was great! I came home from church to wash out the dresses and saved them. Needless to say that week we were very late to church!

If you look close you can see Brynlee's dress in the back ground. LOL Maybe this week I will get pictures of the new clothes.

The boys exctied over their new ties. Trey gets to learn how to tie a real one!

Kailin loved her Easter egg dress and new shoes!

Shane made a wonderful breakfast, and we listened to Conference. We ended at my mom's for Easter dinner and homemade ice cream. Overall it was a wonderful day!

Where have I been?`

After Spring break things got kind of crazy around our house!
Trey had to have surgery on his ears. He had tubes put in 4 years ago. One of the tubes slipped back into the inner ear and the ear drum had closed over the top of it.

His surgery went well. He had a longer recovery then excepted. He was out of school for 2 weeks. He was not supposed to do any physical activities. So of course since this is Trey we are talking about that would be when he got his 6th (Yes, that is right 6th) set of stitches. He was cutting an apple while holding it in his hand. He almost lost a pinkie. I almost passed out. LOL
At this point I needed a break. I left Shane in charge so I could go play with my friends. It was a short get away, but a very needed one. We stayed up until the early morning hours doing hair and goofing around.
Thanks Alisha for letting us crash at your house.
Easter was next. Every year we go with Shane's family out for a picnic and egg hunt. This year with it being conference we listened to it from the cars. It has become one of my favorite traditions with the Johnson family.
This is all the girls around the fire to keep warm.
Kailin and Brynlee pushed Isiah around in his stroller. They liked it more than he did.

Shane, Kailin and Brynlee on the Easter egg hunt.
The pictures don't really show how dirty these two little girls got. They had such a good time playing with the cousins.
